If lucky, you will get a quick glimpse of the wild life of the area. The surrounding lakes and forests host many species of birds and deer. The area is also rich in history from the ’50s, where the communist regime made severe movements in the population. Your guide will fill you in with all the details.

The half way point will the the Danube crossing at Cernavoda and Fetesti. This will be along the oldest cured iron bridge of Europe. The area is also famous for the artifacts from a population dating back from 6000 BC. The Danube will offer you a great glimpse into the differences in the area. Once over it, you will leave the flat lands of Wallachia and enter the great hills of Dobrogea. This teritory holds the oldest mountains of Europe. Although only 400 meters high today, these mountains are more than 400 mil. years old. Also, Dorbrogea holds no less than 26 nationalities. It is a land where west meets east.

End your 2 hour drive at the port city of Constanta. One of the largest cities of Romania, Constanta is the largest port on the Black Sea and the oldest city of Romania, founded in 657 BC. Stop in Ovidius Square, named after the famous ancient poet, exiled here. Visit the Archeological Museum and Roman Mosaic Marketplace. These show unique items in the world and very rare artefacts: The Glykon Snake, ancient baby bottles and a complete original tomb from ancient Constanta.

After the visit, depart north for a drive through the jewel of our coastline, Mamaia resort. Lunch will be on your own, but you can choose the numerous great terraces of the resort. They are all on the beach and offer the best way to relax after a long day.
