Castelul Cantacuzino Castle is a “rival” the much better known Peles Castle. it is situated also on the Prahova Valley. This one dates from 1911 and belonged to the Cantacuziono family, reason for which it has their name to this day. Nowadays it functions as a museum, including numerous collection of books, paintings, sculptures and decorative objects from the period.
Castelul Pelişor Castle is actually a palace of a smaller size, which, together with Peles Castle, was part of the royal summer residence of Sinaia. Pelisor was built between 1899 to 1902, as a residence for Print Ferdinand and his wife, Princess Maria. Unlike Peles Castle, this smaller castle retains a simply elegance, coming much closer to the feel of a normal residence, rather than a royal one.
Castelul Corvinilor Castle, or Huniady Castle, is another landmark fortress of our country. Dating back to the medieval ages, it is an important monument of the Gothic architecture, it’s construction being finished in the 15th century, by Ioan od Hunedoara. Corvinilor Castle was massively restored starting with 2010 and today it is one of the medieval treasures of Romania, which brings out past past perfectly.
